Why Hide?

Some people may feel compelled to reason as to why such hiding places like this one exist on the internet. I may give you a brief reason, at least as of my reasoning, as follows: because sometimes, one needs to refrain from being indulged with the burden of wearing the unnerving façade that we all share during our mundane and troubling day-to-day lives.

We are sometimes obliged to take on the burden of carrying the weights of our choices, and how others perceive ourselves to be. The thing is, do not get inclined to consider that I am being parabolical here, as in: bending from one extreme to the other, because I am not. The two sides here are not severed, you see, but linked, chained together. But them would rather somehow may not, or would rather not, be seen together.

Why? Let me paraphrase it like this: if people could handle the truth they wouldn’t want to go on living the way they do, let’s be honest.

Constantly honing their thoughts towards distractions, indulging in evermore mind-numbing practices in order to try to fulfill the vast void that is collapsing within their hearts, just to continue living one more miserable day.

Because the abhor the daunting duality, as much as I do too, of that wanting of being oneself, being somewhere else, but then getting enshackled by the duties one must perform. “Being a good person, not causing trouble, or arousing peoples madness”, just because they cannot convey the thought or even the possibility that you, a regular person, might hold distant tragedies that were enclosed for so very long, or that you wanted to say fuck you more often to a bunch of people, but that would probably get burnt bridges between people that you hold somewhat dear or your workplace, so then…

All there is to do, is to rest in places like this, where the Shadow, according to Jung’s Psychological Archetypes gets released and sees a glimpse of its own contours. Expressing oneself like this shouldn’t be a liability, aye, but in the terms which we live now, it seems to be, to say the least, a bit dangerous. In order for one not to taint its image that was caressed over the years, and which other people might view as somewhat stereotypical, albeit we are not, some might feel inclined to hide like this.

But then, besides certain places alike the ones found in clinical rooms for psychotherapy sessions, where else could one find such places for other ones akin to us trying to express themselves a bit better, without the perils of being judged and held the finger against? Therefore, as I say this to you, I hope to have made just a little bit more clear as to why, sometimes, a few people or authors might hide from their own creations and crafts, even if it’s just a blog where only a few people in existence might have the gullible chance to encounter.

Seems like sometimes one must hide a certain something in order to find a few others, doesn’t it?
