This one will be shorter because of the sleep deprivation I’ve been having over the last few days but… I was thinking about the whole situation with Crushes and Unmatches going on, and how that may lead up to a very high level of frustration on some young men and women who can’t seem to connect with others.
Maybe it is just seasonal, or maybe due to your profile pictures, but considering then, and when one person can match quite rarely with another fellow from our species, and that gives a little spark of hope and connection, then, out of the blue, just as suddenly, it just vanishes with no impression of feedback whatsoever, it makes things really shaky and unstable.
Especially when, maybe, that one match could be the only one you’ve had in weeks, and you are someone longing for some kind of connection, and rarely goes out and maybe interacts with people because that’s just how things goes nowadays. Then, the last subterfuge which we use for interaction then becomes a major source of angst, because all you are left with are sudden denials where you can never be really sure ifthe other person will just ghost you, if you will ever hear back from them or whatever.
So then, tragically enough, seems that your crushes end up really crushing you once they leave and you might not even have the faintest idea why. On one hand, nobody has any obligation, but on the other, it begs some consideration on the emotional and psychological effects and scars that these sudden and frivolous inter-actions spur inside each-others minds. The ever looming feeling and edgy nature of expecting some form of confrontation, never really knowing if you said something wrong or that turned the other person off, so then, instead of living in fear of themselves, if they’ll be accepted, they might just choose to not confront it anyhow and just retract from such kinds of interactions. Again, no one is obliged to do or have anything, but then what are the consequences, then, when just untying from some one are just a button press away, and with no drawbacks, at least for us?
