Writing to Think

So, this day was a double post day, I guess, and some parts of them are interrelated. Mostly, the way that I find of writing to make us escape from the predatory mess in which we find ourselves day-in, day-out. As a scapegoat for our mundaine affairs. As some kind of storage-room where we can lay cozy for a few moments and lay off and rearrange a few of the crates that lay off there.

The crates in this case being our thoughts, ideas and values. Because, mostly, when we stop to write, we are not doing some mechanical thing (although one might argue that with AI now, some are doing just exactly that), but no. In here I am talking about the artisanal crafting experience of you writing your own words and expressing your thoughts. And the materia prima which we are dealing with here is our memories, our values, our very being, as long as we are able to articulate them.

So I use writing as a tool, a tool to think. And most of you, if couldn’t have already guessed, may have noticed that I use this webpage in a sort of similar way. A sketch for my very being, somewhere I can go back to, revisit myself. See what I have moved within me, relocated, refurbished and whatever more.

Writing for the most part of me (my life in this case) was a means of expressing, and there are several old files, more than decades old, that share a glimpse or a mirror into who I was in a particular moment in time, or what was going on, either internally of myself, of externally, into the events I was experiencing.

Still, writing it seems, marvelous as it is, and a possibility of expressing oneself, giving rise to what was previously hidden, still, is one part of the equation. Sure, it does help to think. But then, after that, and come to think of it: what is it that has been done or is to do with such and said thoughts? Do they remain buried or to they take us to somewhere else and new conclusions? And these new conclusions to new behaviors and so forth.

So, even though it is a good tool as to escape from the rat-race, maybe it would be perilous to use it as a mere artifice to be able to withstand the rat race which we find ourselves in. Maybe, it would be less prohibitive if we used it as a means of escape. Trouble is, with the moves and means of the current generation we find ourselves, it seems that doublethink even though coined in a fictitious scenario, now morethan ever is becoming more prevalent.

And that, that is dangerous my friends.

So you could use your canvas of the mind as a way to correlate and stash ideas, organize though and make do with it. But please do not forget to take the next step and hone and observe those thoughts, see where they take you, and where you might lead them to.

Now, more than never, it seems that such thought is needed. Not just as a means of recreation, but also as a means to survive.

Survival in the age of lies and fake content generation.

A survival that must be taken into consideration, not from consuming artificially generated content, no.

But from creating and expurging into the outside humanely crafted expressions.

And those expressions my friends, are only possible if we take a moment to think and delve unto our minds and bodies, instead of just chasing new slop to feed in our brains.

Write to think, and think to write.

Make yourself a favour.
