People Self-Sabotage

Oh, you’ve seen it previously, as much as I have too…

No, can do it! I can’t do it (translates as: I won’t do it), because I don’t know how to do it, it is… too complex! (meaning: I don’t wanna put effort in it) And…

yadda yadda yadda… We’ve all heard it previously befored. I know you did. You know I did it too… This is why I am writing this piece right now… Because people love to self-sabotage themselves.

Thinking that others might do something, when in turn it is not a matter of being capable (most of the times), or even knowing to how to properly do something, it is merely a matter of putting some effort into it.

Just this… Effort. And a little bit of stubbornness too.

Because, look, let me be honest with yourself… Most of the issues that I tackled so far, I didn’t know jack how to solve them in the first place, when I started. But I strived, and I strifed too. Gosh, sometimes I got on my nerves, more times than I’d like to count, but I went for it anyhow.

Because I am of the common thought that people can learn if they so wish to. That means that you can learn this something too. But the danger is that you, yourself, might be cutting yourself short.

When, and each, everytime you merely think, “oh, I can’t do it, someone else must get it done or fixed, because they have the proper ability to do such a thing”, let us be honest, shall we? You are just being lazy and looking for excuses.

We all know that you are. I know that I did that sometimes… Oh, that thing? Never mind, I can’t do it. And in reality, it was not that I could not do it. I actually could if I did just pour a little time and effort into this, because, let’s be honest, I just wasn’t born knowing all the bunch of stuff that I know now duh.

I learned them. Fuck, frog god’s sake, if you are even able to read these fucking words, it means you have learned things, and don’t take that lightly. You can think goddammit. Or at least we hope that you still can and haven’t fried your brains watching a bunch of meaningless nonsense over god knows where. (pssst, He’s always watching you, btw)

But the fact of the matter is, people have this horrendous sabotaging mentality that “Oh, I can’t do this, oh I’m unable to do that shit”, when, in reality, they can, and they are able, they aren’t just putting any effort into it. Because they believe they should have known that previously, by now… But hell, where’s the logic in that? How could you have known something if you haven’t even never tried that in the first place?

AND WORSE! THEY POINT THEIR FATTY FINGERS AT YOU, AND ME, saying they are unable to do something they haven’t even tried doing, so then tell me… how the hell do they even know they can’t do something which they haven’t even tried in the first place, huh?

You beg that question with me, right now.

And you’ve been guilty of doing that too. As much as I have, also, obviously.

But the thing is… I wouldn’t be somewhere like I am now, if I continuously and constantly kept doubting myself about how to do certain stuff, or even telling lies to myself that I am just not capable of…. Of what? Really. Ponder upon it for a second… Of what? Doing things that thousands and upon thousands of others have done so far or similarly too? Are they too bright? Am I too dumb? No… Oh, we know you are not the jackass you like to think to believe that you are. Maybe a tiny bit that is, but not as much as you envision.

In any case, I stand by my point… Not everyone will be a nuclear physicist, not everyone will become an astronaut, or programmer, or whatever more. Except for the cases of genetic conditions, or so I believe, the only difference between one of us “normies” and those other people which are kinda good on one field, or that can do trickery stuff and the like, is just that…

They just put more effort and time into it than you and me.

Now, you are either willing to bridge that gap (which isn’t that much, sometimes), or you are just admitting defeat beforehand because you don’t even wanna bother, but not because you are incapable of doing that particular thing, my friend. Be honest with yourself. Be truly honest with thee.

Aye, fair enough so… I guess that I made my point stick, or so I think.

Don’t be an asshole and self-sabotage yourself. I know, everyone has its struggles, don’t let yourself be one more struggle for you to tackle with, or your doubts to kick in.

It is a matter of time, and patience. And sure, a few people might have it better in terms of conditions and stuff, but we have the entire world at our fingertips, and unless you’ve had your brain turned into mush (in which case you wouldn’t have been able to finish this article nonetheless), you are able to accomplish things. Just give it a chance. And stop calling yourself names and telling your mind lies.

Give yourself an opportunity to do better and learn, and not just mourn and shriek that ‘can’t do, can’t do’ and yadda yadda. We know that you cannot, for now. Now go out there and start at least trying to can do that thing.

You can do better.

Just have a little patience.

I’m out.

Paece.
