Sometimes, it seems like actual work, just to keep up with the latest and shinyiest technology. Every week nowadays something spurs up, and it’s been actually wild, albeit a lil’ bit exhausting seeing what’s been brought up within tech, particularly in AI.
I’ll name a few, not in any partciular order, but just in case: AWS Kiro, Openclaw, MCPs, Clawsec, Templafy, Gateway API, nanobot, Sarvam (LLM), Grype, OpenFang, LandingAI (ADE), VoxCPM, Docling, Flyte 2, MCP Toolbox for DBs, Khoj, Server-Side events (SSE), Context-Mode MCP, Nullclaw, vLLM, llmfit, claude-code-best-practices, Raplh Wyggum, Doc-to-LORA, Scapling and I could go on indefinetly…
I mean, don’t get me wrong. I am more than sure that a bunch of these tools are marvellous and might help us a bunch in our everyday tasks. But, at the same time, I believe that the speed we need to keep up with all of these advancements is just exponential.
If we are not attuned daiy to the new developments of the industry, we risk falling behind, and even in a month’s perspective, we’ll already be considered outdated. I mean, who ISN’T coding with AI to some level today? I know that I am, now almost daily, because I can sort of do some pair programming, and each day advance a tiny bit on personal projects that, if were not for it, would be gathering dust and spider webs.
Truth is that, sometimes, nowadays, we have a lot more convenience on how to do our work, but also it takes a loot to keep up with the tip of the spear, to always be on the edge of the developments and up to date. How good would it be, if there was such a button or maybe a command we could run on ourselves, à la matrix, that would download and compact all the knowledge of these tools and the possibilities of interacting them together. Instead of, say, us wasting sometimes hours on end to try to keep up with the latest developments so far and that, maybe, in the span of a few months, will be outdated (again).
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I do love dealing with teach and the easiness it is sometimes to have all this tooling at our disposal. But still, on the other hand, I cannot budge to think that being on par with the trends nowadays is, in itself, a fullon job too.
Until when will we be able to keep up? In cognitive terms, and planetary wise, I guess…. we’ll see.
