Book or Person?

Can a book be a better company than a person?

Of course, I know there are certain cases and scenarios but… I feel as if some of us (myself included) are somewhat longing so much for a sort of human connection with other people, but barely being able to achieve this? I mean, if you’ve been before on dating apps and the like you might know what I am talking about. You meet someone, you start talking, the traditional conversation goes, then it stalls, maybe the other person stops replying and there you go round into the cycle again…

Obsidian Soundfields

There is a place, which is not really a place per se, but rather a channel, a virtual segment of our reality, in a particular plataform which we use for sharing our videos. In there, there’s a sort of community which I dare to even call it home, which is OSF (Obsidian Soundfields).

I’ve discovered it by accident, circa a year ago, in mid February or even March of 2024, I’m not really sure, due to having to deal with work assignments and not managing to focus enough to finish it in time. I was doing long hours overnight, being awake until dawn trying to troubleshoot a few things here and there, but to no avail.

Boredom Stasis

There seems to be a certain state in which boredom partakes our will, and nowadays it seems truly that we want to get rid of it no matter the cost. We want to indulge in pleasures and stimuli all the time, and usually the worst form of boredom, I believe, seems to reveer its ugly head during the times we feel most alone.

I feel as if this is truly dangerous in certain situations, surprisingly (not) more often when it comes to addictions. We want to indulge in sensations, in order to feel alive, or less dead presumably. Not really dead per se, but in that kind of catatonic state from which oftentimes we seek to refugee ourselves away from it.

How Performance kills Creativity

I was just considering about this now, how performance kills creativity. I don’t know if it was Van Gogh or which other artist that used to have lucid dreams, when falling asleep he would do so with a spoon on his hands so that when he was on the verge of shutting down and dreaming the spoon would fall off his hand and he would wake up with lucid visions.

Writing n' Rally Pt. 1

There are two things I am particularly passionate about, one being writing and the other one being rally (if you couldn’t tell by the title of this post already). Maybe people have the perception that writing is like writing in Nascar or Formula 1, where you need to flatout the accelerator and just go as fast as you can. Need to write that, no matter what, or the word count is important, the number of pages or whatever.

Schrodinger's Interactions

As I was talking with a friend of mine, I observed a peculiarity in our modern day-to-day interactions which is this: It seems that we are living in a certain time where our interactions are like that of a Schrodinger’s Cat. How so? You might ask…

Well, the way I perceived this was the following: seems like today we never really know how a certain interaction with other people will go. As a friend of mine put it mildly: “have they read the message? is she online? when will they respond? will they respond? we’ll never know”.
